Giant sticky notes remind voters to bring photo ID to polls
The Electoral Commission’s public awareness campaign readies voters across England for change in rules.
Election overseer the Electoral Commission has used giant sticky notes to remind voters they now need to show photo ID to vote in England.
McCann Demand is behind the ‘Note to Self’ campaign, which has at its center a minute-long TV ad that sees people encounter massive post-it notes.
McCann Demand was hired by the Electoral Commission shortly after the UK Government’s Elections Act came into place requiring voters to bring photo ID to polling stations.

The TV spot will be supported by out-of-home, radio, digital audio, social, print, digital and in-game. McCann Demand was also responsible for the media strategy and buying.
Lucy Hudson, managing director at McCann Demand, said: “We wanted to make sure our campaign was accessible and easy to understand and that our call to action was clear. We landed on an engaging, cut-through creative concept based on a device known to everyone – the humble sticky note.”
