In ‘Built for the Holidays,’ a retro and festive world comes to life with mini mail trucks, shipping boxes and figurines.

Gifts and holiday cheer aren’t the only things the United States Postal Service (USPS) is delivering this holiday season.

On Wednesday, the government agency launched ‘Built for the Holidays.’ In its latest seasonal ad campaign, viewers enter a dazzling diorama of USPS shipping boxes and envelopes, a mini figurine of the Postmaster General and billboards made of holiday stamps.

Many will find the work reminiscent of classic animated films from the defunct animation company, Rankin Bass, including Jack Frost (1979) and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964).

The spot also features QR codes placed over a house that link to the USPS change of address landing page and another that directs to the USPS’s  ‘Operation Santa’ website, which allows children to write letters to Santa and for others to respond to them.

Built for the Holidays aims to celebrate the reported 12bn mailpieces and packages that the carrier delivers each holiday season, as well as shed light on its improved delivery network.

It arrives on the heels of last year’s campaign, ‘Holiday Ready,’ which ranked as one of the top five most-liked ads of the season, per System1 reports.

The integrated campaign, led by creative agency McCann Worldgroup, will run until December 18 on national broadcast, online video, radio and social.
