World Creative Rankings 2023: adland’s top companies, campaigns & people revealed
The annual World Creative Rankings benchmark the agencies, advertisers, campaigns and people that were most awarded in the ad industry’s major global awards shows in the previous calendar year.
Adidas's Liquid Billboard was among the most-awarded campaigns of the year
The Drum can now reveal who has topped our World Creative Rankings for 2023.
The rankings are compiled by exhaustively analyzing the performance of thousands of pieces of creative work across 19 major industry awards programs, including The Drum Awards, throughout 2022.
This time around, that meant our researchers pored over 2,438 campaigns from 1,698 clients working with 1,233 agencies composed of 522 chief creative officers, 749 executive creative directors, 2,270 creative directors, 1,543 copywriters and 1,820 art directors.

World Creative Rankings:
What does the research cover?
-
The World Creative Rankings are determined by collating and analyzing all the winning work from 19 distinguished international awards shows.
-
The fieldwork covers awards results from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. The World Creative Rankings do not impose any eligibility rules on the recency of work, as these are set by the individual awards shows, so advertising predating 2022 will be included.
-
Awards analyzed in the research include The Drum Awards, Spikes Asia, Dubai Lynx, Adfest, the Clios, Guldagget Sweden Awards, D&AD, ADC US, The One Show, Danish Creative Circle, Cannes Lions, New York Advertising Awards, Gerety Awards, Kinsale Sharks, Cresta Awards, ADCC, Golden Drum, The Loeries and London International Awards.

How are the rankings determined?
-
Each award win is weighted according to whether it is part of a domestic, continental or global scheme.
-
Points are given for Grand Prix/Best in Show, Gold, Silver, Bronze and shortlisted work; for shows that do not adopt this prize structure, scoring is adapted accordingly.
-
Points are allocated to the campaign, the agency, the client and the individuals involved in the creative process. This allows us to not only rank top campaigns, but also agencies, agency networks, holding companies, clients and agency talent.
-
The World Creative Rankings are reliant on the credits data supplied on each piece of awarded work in each show. Therefore, we can only score the individuals and companies credited on winning entries.
